42 Point to 30 Victory for the NFC
Dallas Cowboys WR Terrell Owens scored a fourth-quarter touchdown to give the NFC a 42-30 victory over the AFC in the Pro Bowl.
Cowboys receiver Owens collected a six-yard pass from Jeff Garcia for the go-ahead score before Vikings running back Peterson entered the end zone on a six-yard run to make the result safe with two minutes lleft on the clock.
Peterson, the NFL's offensive rookie of the year, rushed for 129 yards and a pair of touchdowns on 16 carries.
The AFC had taken an early lead as touchdowns from Lorenzo Neal and TJ Houshmandzadeh sandwiched a Larry Fitzgerald effort for the NFC during the first quarter.
Rob Bironas added a 33-yard field goal and, when Ben Roethlisberger found Houshmandzadeh on a one-yard pass for the Bengals receiver's second touchdown early in the second quarter, the AFC led 24-7.
Comeback
But they could only manage two further field goals from Titans kicker Bironas as the NFC produced a stirring comeback in the idyllic setting of the Aloha Stadium in Honolulu.
Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo began the avalanche of points by finding his team-mate Owens on a six-yard pass, while Matt Hasselbeck located Chris Cooley with a 17-yard pass to reduce the deficit to 27-21 at half-time.
And Peterson came to the fore in the third quarter, scoring on a 17-yard run to put the NFC ahead for the first time.
Bironas slotted his third field goal from 28 yards to give the AFC a 30-28 advantage heading into the fourth quarter.
But Owens and Peterson each bagged their second touchdown as the NFC completed the win.
