Fergie Speaks out

Sir Alex Ferguson believes April's meetings with Arsenal and Chelsea will decide whether the Premier League title is won or lost.

Second placed Manchester United could find themselves five points behind top-of-the-table Arsenal if the Gunners defeat Blackburn at Emirates Stadium on Monday night, while Chelsea sit three points behind the Red Devils in third.

Both United and Chelsea dropped points on Sunday as Ferguson's side lost to derby rivals Manchester City and the Blues were held 0-0 at home to Liverpool.

However, Ferguson anticipates the destination of this season's top flight silverware to be decided when United host Arsenal on 12th April, before travelling to Chelsea two weeks later.

"There's no doubt about it, the games against Arsenal and Chelsea will be decisive," Ferguson told Inside United magazine prior to the defeat to City.

"The fact that the league is so close makes a big difference. All the top sides have dropped points.

"Teams are taking points off the top sides more than ever. But it looks likely that our home game against Arsenal and the match at Chelsea could make a huge difference."
