Liverpool vs Aston Villa Preview
Martin O’Neil’s Villa side travel to Anfield tonight knowing a win will see them overtake Liverpool in the Premiership.
Liverpool will be looking to build on the impressive FA Cup win over Luton last week and show further support for their under fire manager. Rafael Benitez has been under pressure after his public disagreement with the clubs new owners.
Aston Villa are also in a rich vain of form at the moment after a convincing 3-1 win over Reading last weekend, however they are likely to be without their captain tonight Gareth Barry.
Villa will also be forced to use third choice goalkeeper Stuart Taylor this evening, as Stuart Carson is ineligible to play as part of his loan agreement with Liverpool.
Liverpool will only be with out defender Daniel Agger tonight who is out with a broken metatarsal, other than that Benitez will have a full squad.
Liverpool are currently unbeaten in their last five league fixtures so Villa will have their work cut out if they are to take anything from tonight’s match.
